busy beauty!!!

Yes, I am right now! I am packing up for our Wisconsin trip tomorrow for swithart's appointment at UWSP on Thursday and I have to mind what I should be bringing since it's going to be a long drive especially for our toddler Triz. We will be gone for three days but I am expecting to still be able to log in since the hotel where we'll be staying has free wifi so I should be able to go online if I could find a chance. It's awesome because it could be our advance getaway for our 5th wedding anniversary come April 5. We have activities lined up and spots to hop in to; it's just unfortunate that the weather up there is kind of cold so for sure, our time to enjoy the outside beauty will be limited. Anyhow, we'll just see what we can come up with. I am excited for this, not only because it's a family affair but because our future lies in the result of swithart's fulfillment. I gotta get moving here and I'll see you around friends!

happy... and thanks!!!

It's Monday and I am feeling the need to update my blogs! :) How's your weekend friends? Mine has been great, given the silent birthday celebration I've had here plus the freezing temperature and the snow. First of all, I wanna say THANK YOU so much to all of you who spared a moment or two to leave your birthday thoughts, wishes, and greetings to me. You know who are and I really appreciated all of those comments you've left me. I will never forget my 26th birthday ever because it's my first time to have received a whole lot of online greetings from all of you my blogging comrades. So again, thank you very much!

As I've said, I didn't have one lavish celebration but I did have that pampahaba ng buhay thingy! ;-D I have enough to be thankful for and my gratitude for this another new year in my life is immeasurable. It's enough to have gotten hugs and kisses from my loved ones around here, as material things I don't need 'em, though I still received some which I didn't expect and it truly painted smiles in my face and gladness in my heart. The next to be celebrated is our 5th wedding anniversary which is April 5th and the upcoming trip to Wisconsin this Wednesday till Saturday will make it. We actually have a lot of schedules for this week. I am just thankful that days go by so fast as it brings us closer to our next big goal. For now, I wish you all a wonderful start of the week! I hope everyone is in the best mood to smile away the cares and worries! Happy Monday!!!

do give me some love!!!

I'm off starting right now till tomorrow.
Well, I always am, every Sabbath day.

But today,
It's because I have one more reason to be so.
Because every 28th of March, since 25 years ago, is one special day!

Yep, it's my birthday!!!
And I couldn't stop the world from letting me turn a year older this very day! YAY!

There's no big celebration going on,
BUT my heart is filled with joy and thanksgiving
for another new year of blessedness to come.

I am so blessed with providence, love and peace,
And I think they're more than enough to cherish!

tGif and birthday wishes

It's Friday today and I am the the happiest! Tomorrow is a huge break, not only because it's Sabbath but because it's my birthday as well, so how perfect is that? :) Today, I woke up with a lot of offline messages in my YM, several SMS at my Chikka, and more e-mails of birthday greetings from friends and families who I can tell have still remember me and my special day. YAY! Their greetings simply made my day. Yaya was so thoughtful and sweet to send me this:

...and so I thought I am very special. Swithart asked me this morning where we're going to dine out but I begged him not to go anywhere kay sayang lang ang gasto. We're up for a lot of expenses in the coming days and since we don't have extra budget, we'll just stay home and enjoy what I could make nga pambahaba ng buhay. lol I am up to make my special spaghetti and maja, and Triz is asking for a cake that I could blow [yes, she knows full well that every birthday has to have a cake w/ a candle to blow, hah!] but since I don't want to see a lot of foods that will just get spoiled and thrown away after days of not consuming them, I'll just probably make something that everybody around here can really eat. Since I am feeling all the love around me, I want to spread my birthday greetings as well to my doctor BIL Nicanz [who is so busy as an ER doc in one of the hospitals in Cebu, PHILS] who is also birthdaying today, a day before mine, and to my Friendster friends Liezl, MichelleM, and Marv who have the same birthdates as mine. For now, I have to get going and prepare to end my week. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend ahead!

Oh Baby, baby!!!

No, I don't intend to simply say my expression here of "oh, baby baby!" It's not even the song like may be some of you are thinking! I meant a real baby here! Hehe... But of course, it doesn't mean that I am pregnant! :) Though I would readily accept it if I am. It won't be an impossible thing you see, simply because I have a husband and we both are sexually active. But for now, I must confess, pregnancy is not "our" thing yet. I know, it would be best to have another one since our one and only is now about to turn three years old soon, but given our tough situation stability wise, it holds us back. But honestly though, I am feeling a little fear, too of giving birth once more. So who knows, we may or we might not try to have another one any longer!

BUT, I know of a couple who are trying for a baby. Thing is, the woman is a nurse herself so I wonder if she doesn't know any technique or way at all for a perfect conception. I am sure that medically, she knows a lot of the biological body since she's a student and some kind of an expert of it but here's why it gets even more exciting: there are a lot of pieces of helpful and truly valuable information for anyone out there who are trying to conceive, aside from what your own medical practitioner tells you, and it's the very informative websites that are existing in the world wide web right now. One of them is gurgle.co.uk-- have you known about it? It got a wide range of helpful features with real and practical pregnancy advices that one will truly find so interesting and useful.

So whether you or someone you know is trying to get pregnant or is already up for a due date, I suggest you drop the site a visit if you're interested. And all I have to say is, good luck and have the safest delivery then!

got it!!!

Make way for the new Pentax Optio 12MP digital camera that I've mentioned in my previous post down below!

YAY! I didn't expect it to be soooo good! Really good that I fell in love with it instantly! Hehe... So does this mean I'm saying goodbye to my old Canon [which I am a HUGE fan] and be loving Pentax now? Haha... Well, as far as having this new one, I think yes. Swithart suggested to just let Triz play with the old one, and then send it to Philippines when we could ship another box soon. I think it will work. And then, I'm happy to have my self treated with this new toy, just in time for my birthday. Hehe... Though I must admit, my old Canon is way easier to use and operate compare to this new Pentax, however, the many features of the latter surpassed my expectation. It has a single-lens function that I was able to capture some shots using different ISO and focus. You want some samples? Here, take a look:
:)
What could be the most perfect subjects so relevant but the spring grass and my always favorite toddler! :D Can you see how fine the resolutions are? Indeed, there's magic with the 12 megapixels!

Such Awesome Buy!

Sale, sale, sale!!! When it comes to electronic stuff, I am a buy.com fanatic! Thinking about it now, the idea that I regretted signing up for the buy.com ad campaigns often crosses my mind, but heck, with how awesome the deals I got with the purchases I've made from them, I think it's worth it. Yesterday, I went ahead and ordered the NEW in box 12MP Pentax Optio A40 digital camera, a $399-priced-item which I got for only $104! How's that? I think buy.com is unbeatable, with their thousands of great items sold at the lowest price plus free shipping so one will really find the value of the money spent.

Twinkling Triz

Remember my old post here asking for help about any audio uploader you know? I would like to say thank you to Babette for her suggestion, unfortunately, I wasn't successful with the site. I tried searching it again and I was brought to a certain Facebook application with an instruction which I tried to follow and I think I got successful with it. At least, I've heard it live after I was told that file uploaded successfully. So what was I trying to upload? Well, it's my lovely Triz's "Twinkle twinkle little star" song which I'm proud to share right here.

[Just double click the play button to play]
I hope my sisters who are regular stalkers of this blog of mine will be able to hear this. Hehe... I know, it's not a lot, but the fact that it is done by my only 2 years and 8 months old little girl, it's something worth my pride and joy. Keep twinkling friends and have a wonderful weekend!

a birthday break?

After talking to my sisters tonight, I realized that it's around this time last year when I was enjoying their companies back in our home country. Yes, we kind of had a sibling reunion and such time was incomparable. It was during my birthday, too when Ate Eve treated me with her all-time yummy goodies. I was away from my husband that time but I didn't mind it because my very beloved sibling's presence made every moment lasting and precious. Eight days from now, it's my special natal day once again. The husband asked me if I wanted to have a break, sort of a night of getaway to one of those luxury hotel rooms even if it's just here in town but I refused, telling him I'd prefer cash. lol Well yeah, I am just being practical. We could go out for a dinner on my birthday but I don't need an extravagant celebration. If I have the money, I'll send it to my loved ones back home who I know are badly in need of cash. So expect not to see a lavish celebration here on my birthday! I don't need one, for as long as I have the love and the health, I have the wealth!

tGif and special random thoughts

It's Friday again and even if I can't believe how time flies by so so quickly, I am the most grateful! Our phone here at home I think has been the busiest thing yesterday. From the morning when I woke up, I was greeted by a phone call from Yaya. Then Ma took over to chat with her friends in Las Vegas in California. I am telling yah, they talked like there's no tomorrow and swithart and I can't help but laugh at them silently! lol Well, they're one of those good old friends who have not been seeing each other for years already so imagine the conversation's going to be between them. At noontime, a friend of ours here in town called to ask for help with her Tagalog lessons. We enjoyed talking unfortunately, I had to cut our time because swithart was expecting a phone interview at noon, which by the way went well. He conquered two phone interviews yesterday and I am so proud of him. Though we aren't expecting a job for him soon, we still are hopeful that he will have an offer that would be perfect for him. We trust everything in God and we have faith that HE will find us a way. Then early in the evening, it was my time again to call Mama in CDO and Ate Eve in Davao to greet Kuya Jojo, Ate Eve's husband a happy birthday. I have a related post about this couple I've posted few days ago. I always remember March 20th because it's a day before swithart and I will be celebrating our anniversary as sweethearts 8 years ago. But most of all, it's a countdown to my very birthday as well. YAY, 8 more days to go and I'll be 26 years old. Happy birthday to me then! :)

Cold Again

I thought I won't be wearing my UGG boots ever again until next winter. We have been blessed to have warm weather the past several days and I have even worn a slipper when I went shopping the other day. BUT today and and in the next couple of days, the temperature drop down a little and true, it's going to be cold again. We even have some rainshower earlier and had I gone out for longer time somewhere, sure I would have worn my boots to keep my feet warm and dry. We have our tulips in the backyard started to sprout and bud already and I'm afraid they will be affected by the unpredictable weather. Our plants that we got here inside the house I can tell are anticipating for the warmer days too [as if thy're humans, huh] and I hope spring will truly give us great time outside. While Ma and Pa can't wait to go to Las Vegas for good, I am thinking the heat in there might be unbearable for me, especially for my migraine. Arghh... life! :0

Friendly Blogger Awardee

I am!!!
Thanks to Babette of Definitely MAYBE! for making me as one of her recipients! She thinks I am friendly and I appreciate the thought. It's been sometime now of being a regular visitor and dropper to her blog and I must say I always find the time to pause from her posts because I find it worth reading. :) Now that we're connected in Facebook, it's even becoming friendlier. :0 Anyway, this award comes with a tag called "shot on the spot" tag/meme and I believe I have done such tag already but because I am very lazy to locate it in my archive, I'll just make a quick share of it!

The rules are:
1. Take your latest picture.
2. Take your picture as natural as possible.
3. Post your picture on your blog.
4. Post the rules.
5. Tag 10 people to do the same as above.

[Shame. shame. shame.]
So here's me today. Taken early tonight right when I realized I've been tagged. Pardon how I looked so groggy, tired, and exhausted. I've had loads of clothes ironed this afternoon and just when I was about to take a rest, the toddler woke up from her nap and asked me to bake some pancakes [which she very much loves!]. After mixing everything, I turned the baking over to swithart and here I am minding my pc after being idle for hours! :D Grrr... I hate having my eyeglasses all the time! But what can I do, I am blind without it! :0

As for the last rule, I think I'll pass on it for now!

Wine Taste test!!!

In Las Vegas, SIL was able to experienced the tasting test of the wine of the month that a certain ladies' night bar was holding. She said she was with her officemate and another friend when they hit the place and it was a perfect timing! lol I thought, "oh, I was thinking wine tasting only happens in places where there are vast vineyard and all". Well, I guess my thinking mind is too limited, eh? I am not a wine person anyway so why pay so much interest? lol It's the same line I told my elder sister an hour ago when we talked on the phone. See, my sister and her family from Japan are planning to visit us here this summer but I cautioned them not to because it won't be a great time as we are gonna be moving out from this place. She then opted to maybe changed the schedule instead and that would be this coming Christmas and New Year. She said she missed celebrating the holidays with me and it would be awesome if they could celebrate their New Year here with us. I thought it's a great plan, but I dare told her not to expect a grand New Year celebration here because how we celebrate it here is far different from what we're used to back home in Philippines. She then said she knew it and she doesn't mind. As long as we're together to welcome the new year with foods on the table and a wine flavor of the month. That's when I told her my famous line. :D

NCAA all the way!!!

Have you been watching CBS channel? Oh boy, it is what the husband's favorite channel today! And I would say for tomorrow also. And the day after tomorrow. And the day after that. YAY! It's NCCA baby, all the way! Yes, it's the March Madness, and as predicted, the hubby, being a sports fanatic that he is, a basketball lover at that, is the most thrilled. Of course Pa-in-law equaled his desire. The good thing though: there are three sets of TV here at home so him and Triz will not have to argue and fight on which show to watch. Hah! I am taking a great break as well from my online life. Today, there have been a lot of tasks that I was able to accomplished. Ironing loads of clothes, anyone? Sure, my back hurts right now and I think a good massage will be perfect later! As for my outfit, I am back to my set of thick pajamas again, blame it on the cold! I can't believe how the temperature dropped down today. I have been anticipaiting for spring and for the warmer weather but I am disappointed today to not have it. I talked to Yaya early tonight and I envy her when she said her tulips and some of her flowers are now budding. Oh well, tomorrow brings sunshine anyway so there'll always be hope. :D

Got Some

I received my share of those custom promotional products that the company I've been working with has sent me and I should say I loved the thought and the items in it. There were several pieces of customized pencils, some accessories that my toddler enjoyed playing with, and a shirt. I was hoping I could see a USB flash drive in the box because the husband has been anticipating for one unfortunately, there was none. Anyway, spring semester is almost over and I remember well enough that around this time last year, a friend of mine who has been working at a factory received bags of ballpens, pencils, and a whole lot more of school supplies. All of those goodies were distributed to students in Philippines when we went home and all I can say is it's worth doing it again next time. :) Indeed, giving away promotional products are great idea for the company and for me as a recipient!

HELP!!! Know of an Audio Uploader?

Do you have any suggestions? I am wondering if you know a site where I can upload my audio files in .mp3 and .wav format. I've tried searching but I haven't found any. I hope you can share what you know if you ever have. What I am looking for is some kind of a youtube thing, but only that it's plain audio, not video that I am trying to upload. I would appreciate it BIG TIME if you could help me. Just leave a comment if you care. Thanks a million! :)

Cleaning Up

The husband has been applauding me for being prompt and good in cleaning up my files and getting rid of the unnecessary and old photos I stored here in my hard drive. You see, I got a lesser laptop memory than what he has, and yet, mine runs and loads faster than his because he couldn't clean his memory drive instantly, blame it on his lack of time! But mind you, cleaning up is not a quick task and I have even spent some nights and days to do this to mine because I have a hard time of letting go of the old photos I got in here. Hehe... The good thing though is that all of those I've either moved to discs or deleted have already been printed so I can always go to my albums and look at them when I feel like going to the old times. :)

crying li'l lady

This photo is wordless, like how swithart would describe it, and now, you define! :D

Well, this was what Triz looked like during the snowy season when she was stopped with her snow playing outside. See, this past winter has been the coldest [in my last four years of experiencing winter season] and there were a lot of below zero temperatures but still, Triz was unstoppable in her desire to go out and keep on playing. But it was already very unbearable to us and I couldn't let her stay out for very long, thus, she became a crying little lady when she was deprived from her wants. lol Now that spring has sprung already, I'm not seeing any capture like this in the coming days, and months, when the heat is on. Spring and summertime are the perfect chances to head outdoor so shots in the coming days will not be as cute as this one! :D Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

chatted with doc once again

It's the second time that we've gotten hold of my doctor BIL after him having been away from the online world for so long because he is working at the ER of a public hospital in Cebu, Philippines and he has been working more than overtime; reason why he couldn't find a chance to go online. Now though, he's having his duty at a private hospital for one month so he was able to access the world wide web when he is not being called at the ER. Ma and Pa-in-law are the happiest to talk to him. There have been health conditions and experiences shared and Ma was contented to receive a doctor's advice from her very own son about her hypertension these days. I was so disturbed though when BIL mentioned that there was a patient who recently died of an illness caused by asbestos and that, the family left behind was so helpless. I think the family badly needs someone to fight for them and help them claim what is theirs, unfortunately, access to a certain Mesothelioma lawyer I think is not that easy to find back in my home country so I have a feeling that the family will be left in uncertainty, like what usually happens back there. So sad.

bulletin of birthday cards

I've shared in my other blog some shots of our Lincoln Presidential Museum Trip. Actually, I still have a lot of photos to share but for this post, I wanna especially feature a huge bulletin filled with birthday wishes in forms of cards in it.

Oh don't be thrilled to think that those bunch of cards are for me. Well, it's a wishful thinking right here that I'll be receiving such number of cards come my birthday [which is in two weeks, yoo-hoo!]. It would be impossible! Ha ha ha. Actually, those cards in the bulletin are for Mr. Abraham Lincoln who is supposed to be 200 years old this year had he been living till now. So our timing for the visit to the museum was perfect! There were a lot of extra shows in the galleries presented and we had so much fun touring the whole museum. I could feel how special Abraham Lincoln is to America and the whole world. I think what he has done during his term was remarkable and truly incomparable. It's sad that he doesn't see what the current state of the nation and of the world is right now, but seeing how he is being remembered by so many people who value his legacy is worth uttering. The numerous birthday and gratitude wishes posted everywhere in the country right now are just amazing.

Today, we headed off to the city library for Triz's stuff and I regretted not being able to grab and bring my digital camera with me. The second floor of the library was filled with wonderful and creative artworks made by many elementary students in all schools here in the city in honor of President Lincoln's 200th birthday. Everything was worth watching and sure enough, we spent more than an hour checking out every display in the exhibit. Truly amazing. I am not a believer of birthday celebrations when the celebrant has already passed away but this- Lincoln's 200th birthday is an exception. :)

Join. Connect. Bingo!!!

What is the most comforting thing when you're logged in to the internet? For me, it is when I could satisfy my self with my reading and browsing of those informative websites and any other pages that concern me. BUT, there's nothing as thrilling and exciting as can be than being a part of a couple of networking sites where I joined and become and active member. Yes, it's the narcissism that makes it a little negative but when you get to connect and get in touch with real friends and loved ones who are scattered around the world, it is simply the best ever!

Recently, I've noticed several friends over at this particular networking site who became so addicted to online games that they even tend to have a match with one another and compete with their scores and I can tell they all have so much fun. Well, if only I have the luxury of time, I would surely get myself involved in such a gaming party. No matter how virtual it only is, it still gives every player a blast! Now I wonder if my online friends would like to know about this very cool and unique online bingo site which is in itself a networking place as well. Interesting, right? A bingo site where anyone can play but first, one has to join by creating a profile, form a group, connect with friends, and even upload photos to share. When all else is done, go B-I-N-G-O!

How exciting, eh? It's called a BingoHideout and everybody can join the fun! If it's not enough, you can even explore the site and browse for the featured reviews and latest news of the online bingo sites! Privacy is very much protected so one need not worry. As for me, I still will decide of online bingo would be a perfect pastime. I think I'll have to settle with much of my narcissistic side through my networking profiles for now!

last for tonight!!!

Just when it rains, it pours, I am unstoppable as well when I can start; thus, my presence here in the wee hour of the morning! It's been a long and busy day today, online and off. The two balikbayan boxes were picked up early tonight by the shipping company that we have been dealing business with and it's a good thing to know that he hasn't increased his rate for us when he already did to so many others. I am really tired. But now that I am about to retire for the night, my hands are already weary and my stomach growling, signaling a demand for a cup of hot chocolate. :P I wanted to wake swithart up as I'm sure he will never say no if I'll ask him to make me one BUT I will be that selfish if I'll do it coz you see, he will be getting up as early as 6:30am later for his class at 8! Nyay! And then, I saw this pic of my wonderful but messy Triz in the set of this newly uploaded photos that I have and guess what, I realized that she had an unfinished glass of milk chocolate tonight before hitting the sack; therefore, I have enough to sip and warm what needs to be warmed! Promise: this will be the last for tonight and I'll see you all later! Keep a smile, will you?

An Athletic Dating Site

...is there such thing? It is what my friend who is currently based in Dubai asked of me because she has been into Online Dating for several months now and yet, she still feels unsatisfied with the one she's chatting with. She wants one who will be for keeps but more than anything else, she prefers one who is into sports and athletics a lot. Why so? Because she herself is an athlete! So then, what better way to work that relationship out than being with someone who you share the same passion and interests with, right? Well, she and all other single athletes out there who are in the lookout for romance and partners in life must know the athletic-dating.com site! It is free to join and all members are guaranteed to be real people. Creating a profile is so easy and meeting members who have the same interests and likes is never hard. Oh boy, I could imagine how my friend's desire to join this site will spark! I hope she'll find what whe's looking for!

nocturnal attack

It's obvious, I am being nocturnal right now. My roommates are already snoring and yet, I am not feeling the need to sleep at all. I've got lots of thoughts going on in my mind right now. There's the desire to talk to my mother in CDO but she wasn't home when I called. There's this extra excitement I am feeling for my Ate Eve in Hong Kong who will be flying home to Davao in just a few hours [Hong Kong/Philippine time]. There's this rush in finding for the cheapest airfare to Las Vegas for Ma and Pa because SIL saw the need for them to be there before March 28th for a very important medical concern. I can tell the old folks will be very happy to know about it but the pain in our pocket is too much. :( But most of all, my hands and fingers are exhausted with the cleaning up that I did to my hard drive. I need more extra space in here to accommodate my new pics ready to be uploaded and so it's gonna be good bye to the old albums I got. A moment ago, swithart called and asked me to retire and rest as he hates to see me overusing my eyes. Up to now, I still am not sleepy at all but I'll try my best. It's going to be back-to-school tomorrow for our student here and so I must get going. Good night/ good day [whatever fits!] everyone!!!

Still Up

It's been very late and I am still up and about. I just finished talking to my sister-in-law in Las Vegas and we both have the same concern about Ma-in-law's high blood pressure. So we talked for so many things and one of them is finding a cheap airline ticket to Las Vegas for Ma and Pa before the 28th of this month so Ma could be checked in there by SIL's own doctor. While she has tasked me to do it, she is also busy joining in a motorcycle community online since she has just purchased a bike for herself. Yes, a bike is what her means of transportation right now. Her car is left in here and so, she's glad she was able to get herself a new toy. Cruisercustomizing.com is one site she can't wait to be a part of, as a sociable being that she is. It's actually a great site I've noticed and I can't wait for her to upload her new pics with her bike. There are also blogs featured by members who are so into it and for bike lovers out there, it's a great site I must say!

very late b'day greetings

It was my Ate Eve's [the mom in the family] birthday last Friday, the 13th of March and I hate to miss posting about it here. Well, I haven't posted anything in this blog that day because I was so busy offline thus my excuse. lol We've talked though for a very long time so it was the most important. I greeted her and though it's sad that she's celebrating her big day alone, it's still worth the thanksgiving. She is currently in Hong Kong working and she's been there for three years now. What's awesome though is that tomorrow night, March 16th, she'll be flying home to Davao, Philippines for a two-week vacation. It's gonna be grand because her second daughter EJ [the girl in yellow] will be graduating from elementary with honors so it's a consolation.

And I must confess, I envy her for her homecoming. :) I'm sure it will be the best to be stepping foot in her own home after a year of being away. She is already very excited because there have been a lot of updates and developments that deserved to be personally seen by her back in their place. The last time we saw each other was last year, around this time when we went home and she did, too. So this picture in the left was taken a year ago, with Yaya behind me, at the Eden Nature Park in Toril, Davao City and let me tell you, it was a wonderful time being with the whole family so dear to me.

So what was her birthday celebration like last Friday? Well, she was at work but she said she already treated my other sister and their friends during their day off. On the 20th though, it will be her hubby's birthday as well so she said they'll be celebrating it doubly in their home. And all I can say is, WOW.

My Ate Eve is one of my best sisters. I love her to death and she knows that. People said we two resembles one another, physically, emotionally, and hard-workingly. I hate to be thinking of how much hardship she is undergoing in her life, working away from her family, but I know she's doing everything for their kids. She has become my guardian the entire time I studied high school in Davao and her goodness, as well as Kuya Jojo's [her husband] are unmatched. Now I am all for support in whatever her decisions are. This year's birthday of ours [yes, we have the same month of birthday as mine is on the 28th] marks the 10 years of celebrating it fatherless. Our father died 10 years ago and though we both missed Papa every day, it's just a joy to be thinking about how much we've come so far since then. I am already very late but still I wanna say Happy Birthday Ate Eve and you know how much I love you! Enjoy your vacation!

Shopping

Uh-huh, we have been shopping the past couple of days! They were mostly last minute buy for Ma and Pa who have been trying to fill up the two balikbayan [super huge] boxes that they want to ship to Philippines the soonest. From clothes to shoes, school stuff for the grandsons and granddaughters, vitamins, body care like lotions, toothpastes, and so much more accessories that Papa wants to send. Swithart bought a lot of light bulbs, too for our stock here while I had different items in my cart: Triz's stuff for the warm season, and some winter items on clearance right now! Yay! I just love shopping time! :D But the most important buy I did recently are gift items that we'll be giving to our friends' little ones who will be celebrating their birthdays soon. I can't wait for the birthday party next week. It's going to be fun as it will be held at Make A Mess. And another one important buy that I hate to miss mentioning: a book about computer basics that my niece Shai-shai in Japan is needing. Yes, I'm expecting to receive it tomorrow and then I'll be shipping it right away to Japan! Woooh.... shopping! Really so much fun but surely a pain in the pocket! LOL

beautiful sunday

Yes, it is a beautiful first day of the week around here! The sun is shining bright, the temperature in the 50s, a bit windy and chilly, but heck, this is much better compared to the past days of having a very cold temperature! We went out for a short walk earlier and Triz was loving it! Cyndi was here since yesterday afternoon so it's even more fun having her around after two weeks of not being able to come here. Yesterday's Sabbath was all the more great and the potluck dinner we had at the Township Hall was the best-- all the good foods, awesome people, and warm fellowship made everything worth the joy. Tomorrow though, it's going to be back to normal. Gone is the spring break that swithart had and he will be back to school stuff the day after today. So what's new? Well, our phone has been so busy here since the past couple of days. Ma and Pa have been so joyously talking to their long lost friends who are now based in California and Las Vegas and now, they can't wait to move overthere this summer. So everything's been pretty good in our side of life these days. Little problems are here and there of course, as they're unavoidable but it's great to hear that everyone in the family, here and there are just fine. I hope the same goes for and with you! ;-)

on with the new

My new pair of eyeglasses is helping me big time to see things clearly, protect my eyes from strain, and heal the tingling sensation in both of my eyes which I've been suffering for weeks already! It should, after all, it's what its supposed to do, right? Now, I am starting to feel like I am really one of the members of the four eyes club. lol Though I've been on and off with a prescribed pair ever since I was in high school, it's just now that I am finding it hard to take it off even for just few minutes. Okay, even if it won't look good on me to some, I don't mind. :D

Front view. Blame swithart for making me his subject! :D

Side angle. Super pa-cute, hehe... I'm loving the transition lenses!

What I am after now is the best for me and my vision! I am not a first-timer you see and I am feeling the need for it already so I don't need to be reminded by my bright toddler about it, like she has done many many times in the past. Swithart is new to this though so Triz's constant reminder to dadi is what I can always hear: "eyeglasses dad!" It's terrible for me and the hubby to be staring at each other with each of our additional two eyes [what a makeover!!!], but we're learning to get used to it. Now, literally, we've got eight eyes around here! :D

Traveling

We will be hitting the south of I-55 today to head to the Lincoln Museum in the state capital of Illinois-- Springfield. I have been wanting this break not only for me but for swithart and Triz as well. I am not sure if Ma and Pa are going with us three. They said they've been there so it's just okay if they won't be going with us. It's the cold weather that is to be blamed for their hesitation. lol So yeah, it's obvious: I am excited. Who isn't? I love museums! And we are heading to the most advaned and high-tech museum in the world accordingly! Aside from that, it's sgreat to be traveling with awesome people like hubby and my toddler! lol And seeing beautiful spots while on the road is cool, too! I wonder if there will be a lot of big steel buildings. I think there'll be few only because central Illinois is not much of an industrial and trucking industry state, but agricultural production, mainly corns and soy beans. So there are still steel buildings, especially on the farms and just those ordinary garage that residential homes have but not as many as those in places where manufacturing companies are flooding.

early bird

I tried waking up earlier today. Last night, I've had multiple online tasks left unfinished and undone. I've got a couple writing assignments due today and I couldn't dare miss it! I was supposed to be doing this last night but my lovely Triz invaded my computer for her Starfall and music videos at Youtube. It was impossible to ask her to end her happiness because she was really into it and swithart and I were even very entertained with her "show". I slept for five hours. And now that I'm starting to do what I'm supposed to do, Triz woke up and was looking for me. Darn! How could I........... [lol] Anyways, I am excited because we are gonna be pushing through the planned trip today; the one that we supposed to do last Tuesday but was canceled due to the cruel weather. It's still cold outside and I hate to be knowing that the temperature has dropped down again. Uhm... but where is spring? :D Oh well, tomorrow is the last day for swithart's spring break and for these two days left, we should be enjoying and all!

Life is short...

Life is short, and therefore, it is best to be prepared for whatever instances, especially the undesirable ones, that will happen to each of us. I keep up-to-date with the news and tidbits back in my home country and very recently, one of the precious assets of the Philippine entertainment industry succumbed to leukemia. Learning the details about it all and seeing the family left behind by the person who passed away, I couldn't help but be amazed by the strength and toughness that the wife showed. But realizing that the person who died is one of the elites, I reckon he had a life term insurance and therefore, it comforted and secured the bereaved loved ones. Now I am left wondering often how BIG a help it is to get someone insured when the death and accidents happen. You see, back in Philippines, common people don't express much concern and don't really consider it a need. I am just pleased to know that shopping for a term life insurance here is so easy and smooth and wholesaleinsurance.net is one of the perfect place to get quotes and rates for free.

busiest bee

I'm the one! Uh-huh, and what makes me the busiest bee these past couple of days? Well, there have been a lot of problems back home that needed to be settled. My sister gave up on it all because she's had enough of it and I truly understand her. She gave to me the huge responsibility of attempting to settle it and so far, so good. I don't want to divulge all of the details in here anymore but I've talked to the people concern already and hopefully, things started to mellow down as it has had for two days now. So most of my times, I'm at the phone calling and talking to people about THINGS. Realizing it, there have been a lot of e-mails I've not responded; countless junk mails needed to be spammed, and I have not even stayed at friendster and facebook for more than 30 hours now. Hehe... Busy indeed, offline wise. BUT I think there are accomplishments done and I still get a hold with my chat buddies, so oks na oks pa rin! :D For now, I wish you a great Thursday!

3 hours w/ baby joshua was a blast!

I did share down below in my previous post that baby Joshua is going to be watched by me and Triz because her mom who is still enjoying her 9 months of maternity leave will have to go to her office for a very important meeting. Though many times we have assured them that we could always watch for baby Joshua when they need a break, they still are hesitant to leave him here because they thought he might consume all of our time because the mom and the dad said baby Joshua is being crabby as he grows. Well, last Friday, because Janice [Joshua's mom] didn't want to leave him at a daycare either, she settled to leave him with us, and all I could say is, we had a blast having him for three hours last Friday!

Though Triz doesn't want to hold or touch him, she couldn't wait for him to arrive. In fact, she refused to take her bath early because she didn't want to let go staring at baby Joshua as soon as he got here at home. He was sleeping and I find Triz so cute when she was so considerate by turning her tv's volume low, tiptoeing when she walks, and whispering when she has something to tell me. She was also being such a big help with whatever I asked her to do like getting baby Joshua's bottle from his bag and taking the wipes and diaper out from the bag as well. Such a big and helpful girl really! [But no, I'm not making her an Ate just yet! LOL]

Oh what peace! Having to watched this super cutie baby for just three hours have been heaven to us! When her mom picked him up and learned that he was being a good boy while she was gone, she thought leaving him here would be great because he never cried at all, except when he needed his milk. And sure, I wouldn't mind watching him again soon, with or without the token I got from the mom! :) They're worth my time because they've been sooooo eternally good to me and my family.

spring break ahead!!!

Yeehaaaa!!! What could be more exciting than the fact that this week will be the university's spring break; therefore, swithart is going to be free from classes! We need a break, yes! Even if we won't be going somewhere, at least, we'll have a week to be together for fun. Last Friday, the gas prices suddenly rose up and all because of the travel times for most people here in town and so it won't be that good to join the madness. Swithart suggested some sports activities that we could do together but I countered I prefer going somewhere. Not necessarily long trip as we don't have the budget and the luxury of time since he is still minding his paperworks every now and then so I asked him if we could go even just to a less than two-hour-trip. We'll see. He said if his new eyeglasses will give him a good time, we will. lol Tomorrow, his additional two eyes will be ready for pickup and then if the weather will be okay, either Tuesday or Wednesday, we will hit the road and go S of I-55 to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield. Weeeh! I can't wait!

Sightseeing New York

When it comes to traveling here in the United States, the best travel consultant I could ask for anything regarding trips and tours is none other than my sister-in-law. We call her the travel queen as she is unstoppable in such plight of hers. She is unbelievable when it comes to squeezing her working time and schedule just so she could insert a quick or long trip schedule in her vacant time. In New York, I think she's been there many times! As what I've known, she has spent two New year celebration at the Time's Square. Of course, her photos showed how much fun she got.

As for me, I haven't been to New York. Now that I've got a daughter who's with me in such desire to visit the place, it's even more exciting. But as to when our New York Sightseeing will take place, that I don't know yet. Citysightsny.com is a site worth checking out if you or you know someone who are planning to travel New York soon. The husband said I don't need to hurry in my desire of touring NY. Why? Because if he gets to be accepted to the job he has applied for in one of the universities in New York, then the place will then become our home in those times. But even then, I still would love to experience boarding the double decker bus that will carry tourists to and from every perfect sightseeing tours in New York!

spring forward! did you???

At 2am of March 7, if you're in the US area, it's time to spring forward! Did you?
ford sale Pictures, Images and Photos
I didn't, but thanks to automatic set of my laptop, I didn't have to! Also, my AT&T mobile phone automatically set my time in there an hour ahead. Now, it's just our wall clocks and my wristwatch that need some setting. Small task, eh? But have you done yours? Days will seem to be moving even faster this time! At least, for me. When I woke up this morning, it's only 8am in our wall clock but when I logged in to my computer, I realized how much I have overslept! Now that the Daylight Saving Time has once again adjusted the time, I can now feel the official start of spring in this part of the world where I am in! Yoo-hoo! Now I'm done spring forwarding. Are you???

A Car Allowance Would be Awesome!!!

I do know someone who is working in a company that has mobile employees and it is my very own sister in Hong Kong. I envy her to have a car allowance that the company she's working for has provided for her, but of course, I can't imagine shouldering the responsibility entrusted on her. Meanwhile, my sister-in-law who has just moved to Las Vegas for her new job is currently walking to and from work because of her absence of a vehicle. You see, she left her very own car right here because she flew to Vegas when she moved out. The initial plan was to drive going there but because she's alone in such a very long travel, she decided to just leave her car here and just fly. She said she'll just gonna buy a new one when she's already settled in there. Her current place is just around the campus anyway so walking to and from work is never a burden for now. Her wishful thinking? A car allowance from UNLV! Yay!

As for the hubby, his job I think is not possible to provide him with one. Before, when he has worked in a huge powerplant back in our home country, he was given an option to accept a vehicle which he can use for work and may be, for personal trips. But he didn't stay in that company for long so he hasn't really taken such offer to be that advantageous. Now that he's connected to the education industry, I think there is no such thing as car allowance, though if there is, there is no doubt it would be that awesome!!!

nice and warm weekend

What a lovely day hast it been the past couple of days! Well, since last Thursday actually we've been having a warmer weather around here. Of course I am not complaining as I've said over and over again, I've had enough of winter '08! So now that spring I can see has sprung, we are the happiest! Yesterday, our Sabbath attire didn't include any jacket at all! It was 62F the highest but very windy, and yet, we survived staying outside coatless. Triz was even having so much fun running around the parking lot when we got out of the church building after the service. We were supposed to be going to a birthday party at a fellow Filipino here in town yesterday evening but because of the severe weather warning, we weren't able to go. The thunders and lightning were just too much to bear that Triz looked so awful everytime she hears and sees them. But I'd rather have them that what snowstorm brings. lol Today, we're just home and everyone's eyes are hooked on TV. Yes, it's sports time and NBA and NCAA tournaments are going to occupy everybody's time this day. We still have severe weather warning until now so it's gonna be a Sunday kept at home! I hope you all have a safe and warm time!

My Eyes

The recent eye checkup I've had with my eye doctor [Tuesday last week] confirmed a worsening eye condition and it's not even fair because my eye doctor found out, based from the tests, that my right eye got worse than my left eye. And so, my new pair of eyeglasses will have a different grade per lens. I can't wait to have them soon. See, these old pair I got seems to not help anymore as I always feel a tingling sensation in both of my eyes and I believe this will only go away when I can already use my new eyewear.

As much as possible, I wouldn't want to undergo any laser eye surgery. I know how tough it is going to be if I will. My mother-in-law has both of her eyes been laser operated and though it got much better now, there were a lot of precautions and carefulness that need to be exerted. And I won't fail to mention the cost that we have paid. But because my eye doctor said that my worsening eye condition will one day need any sort of operation, then a laser eye surgery would then be given an option. I've known some several facts about iLasik and how safe it is and I think it's worth considering such option. I would love to have a normal vision without the need to put on these eyeglasses or contacts and so iLasik procedure would be a perfect way to have it. To check if a laser eye surgery works for you, bostonlaser.com has a lot of information you need!

watching baby joshua later!

Thank God it's Friday! Like how thankful I am every Friday, today is no difference! Though I still have lots of things to do for today, hopefully, before the sun sets, I still have the energy to do them all after having been so tired from our yesterday's whereabouts. But what makes me the most excited is to watch baby Joshua for three hours later. Actually, any minute now, he'll be here to be dropped off by his mom Janice and will be picked up later at 2pm! Yay! I can't wait! Well, who wouldn't be delighted to watch for this ever gorgeous baby boy so dear to us?

Janice called us last Wednesday evening to ask for such favor as she has a meeting at her workplace today and Jerry is at work. I willingly said yes eventhough Ma and Pa aren't here today because they also went to our Filipino friend to help set up their house for tomorrow's birthday party. So yeah, I'll be a handful today. Triz is the most cooperative though and swithart is just around so everything will be alright! So I'll be off from the pc for more than three hours today while baby Joshua is around. Yay, good excuse! lol

IT and Vegas Life

If you have been updating my blog over here, you must have known that my sister-in-law has just moved out to Las Vegas for a change of place. She is into it consulting job as she has been one ever since she graduated from the Information Technology degree. I can tell she is love what she's doing because she has had accomplished so many things in life after 10 years of being an IT expert. Now that she is in a new location, I've come up with a formula perfect for her: IT life + Vegas life = incomparably fun! Yay!

But being in such career doesn't let her stop to explore some more. I can see that her guts and her determination will be able to let her land in any IT jobs be it in the education field or in the business and technology field of specialization. Currently, she has a very broad and wide position in her new job as she holds the registrar, consulting, and programming part of the department's institution. The last time we talked, she said she is indeed still new to her newfound haven because after four days of working, she still is in the training mode of the job. Of course, I understand her but mixing it with the Vegas atmosphere, that's where all of the fun begins! But I wonder if she has chosen to be a part of the iCorps TECHNOLOGIES as she once thought of being one. Hmm... Will she has the same quality of life that she has now? Just pondering!

57 F and Shopping Time!!!

It's Thursday and though I got up from bed a little late because I slept very late last night after talking to my sister for straight two hours, I am feeling so refreshed and revived because the bright sun shone through our window and oh, I love the warm weather today! Yoo-hooooo!

So what am I up to this day? Hmm... shopping is one of the to-do-thing in the list! Love it! I am thinking of dining out later as I felt some laziness to mind the kitchen today so let's see. We've got a bunch of stuff set to be dropped off, too at the Mission Mart so off we will later. Ma and Pa wanted to go to the mall to find some shoes for their grandsons which they want to be put in the balikbayan box that are now ready to be shipped to Philippines. As for my shopping spree, well, I am not thinking of buying one for me but I have a couple in mind which I want to purchase for my toddler. I can feel it's going to warm in the next few days already but I think I still have enough old clothes for the warmer days so I won't be getting one for me. I saw a lot of bargains at any stores and the purses never escape my likes but since I just got a new one recently, this one I got below:

I am promising myself to never buy a new one for now. If I am very good to fulfill such promise, the husband would be the happiest! lol Well, that's with the purses only though! :P You see, I received an ad campaign in my inbox yesterday and now this Old Navy women's lightweight scarf makes my hand itch once more!

Hah! It's softness and lightweight description really made me can't wait to see it in store! With this one, I think I can be comfortable to use it all season! What do you think ladies, is it worth it? Oh, there's more of this at stylehive.com just so if you're interested!

Make Your OWN Website

Ever since I started blogging, I have learned that there are so much to learn about the internet. Some are just easy stuff, others are those that I am too impatient to learn. Talk about HTMLs and codes! Yep, it is what I don't have the guts and the patience to be minding of for some longer time! I am the one who prefers to receive the product and then, if the need to write as a way of developing my site exists, then I can be unstoppable in doing so. So you see what I can do? :) The joy and the fulfilling part I found about blogging is I get to learn little things about HTMLS and templates and so, I could say, I can now create simple layouts and templates according to my taste.

Well, blog pages are different from websites I must say that's why when the husband, the elder sister, a friend and some other fellas at church asked me to help them create website, I told them directly that nope, I don't make one and I don't know how to create one. BUT this I just stumbled upon: BlueVoda Website Builder. It is a drag & drop Web site builder that enables a user with little or no experience to build a fantastic Web site. Oh cool! So it's not only gonna be them who will find this software really beneficial but also me who confessingly don't have the knowledge to build one. One thing I found BlueVoda to be great? There is no HTML or coding knowledge required at all! Wow! Now I am even enjoying browsing bluevoda.com because I really find it worth sharing. I can't wait to tell the amateur website makers like me about this. Now if this would be relevant to you or you know someone who will find this site helpful, go ahead and share!

craving for that yummy spaghetti

Which one? The jollibee spaghetti! Yum yum!!! It's what I have been dreaming to eat the past several days. But it's just impossible to happen! Swithart offered to order and take out some from Biaggi's, an Italian resto but I refused. I feel like I still won't like the taste. It's just not the kind that my tastebuds have been dying to eat. My sister-in-law who is now enjoying her Vegas life never fails to have me drool over her jollibee, goldilocks, and chowking meals which I absolutely envy but then again, those are just so impossible to have right now. Swithart suggested I'll just make some, after all, for him and for the dearest toddler, "my spaghetti" is the yummiest and the best! Haha! You don't believe so? Look how Triz gave her sign of approval!

Fresh from a plate of a just-served-spag! Now I gotta go and find the stuff I'll be needing to make some. If I am lucky enough to have everything that I need, I'll spend some time in the kitchen today to make some!

SSLStar Security

How long have you been using the internet? Has it became a part of your daily life now? There is absolutely no doubt that it has to me and often, when I open sites to browse to, every single website puts me into wonder if such is secure and safe for me to be browsing. Does it occur to you, too? I maybe have become addicted to the internet life as my daily activities involve logging in to the online world but the fear and worries that I have of what the effects of the internet might be to me never goes away.
I've come across sslstar.com which offers sslstar ssl certificates to online merchants and developers and I have learned that the sites that I have been frequenting to, especially when I am shopping online or reading a lot of information that concerns me are safe and secure as far as private information and payments are concern. SSLStar deals mainly with the process of securing one's website and it is to me a must for online merchants since a customer like me is highly concern on the sensitive information I am putting into. SSLStar, in short, is an eCommerce security. I have therefore learned that when visiting sites that are online merchants, it would be beneficial to check if it has a SSLStar seal! At least, for me.

eight eyes

Did I tell you yesterday that I was up for my eye checkup after five months of seeing my eye doctor last year? So we went to see Dr. Murfin yesterday afternoon, and this time around, the hubby finally decided to have his eyes checked as well since he's been suffering a bit of discomfort and blurredness every time he stares at his computer for a longer time. After he was examined, we learned that he needed a pair of eyeglasses, a correctional one because he has become myopic. Nope, we definitely don't like the idea but what can we do? It's for his own good, so off we chose a new frame for him. Everything is just healthy actually- the retina and all other parts of his eyes [we had the eyes shot taken, whatever it's called] but he needs a new one to help him ease his seeing of little stuff. The doctor said he has to wear it straight for the first three weeks to get used to it. So in a week, the hubby will already have four eyes. And again, I don't like it.

As for me, it's unbelievable how much mine has gotten worse in just five months. Remember how much I have been complaining of my frequent headaches the past several days? I blamed it all to my PMS thing but because the pattern of the pain I've felt in my head seemed to differ each time, Dr. Murfin said it may be because of my eyes. All of the tests done were fine, even the photo taken to have a glimpse of the back portion of my eyes, except the last one which have me learned that my right eye have gotten a lot worse than my left eye. Yes, my right eye has a much higher grade that my old eyeglasses [which is really not old yet!] don't help me at all. Thus, I needed a new pair as well to get rid of the old one I am using. It sure was a PAIN in the pocket to have me and swithart spent more than $700 for both of our eyes yesterday buy I had so much fun shopping for a new frame. Yay! I've liken the JLo I've chosen and now, I can't wait to have it! lol So next week, we are already a couple with eight eyes! :(

Diabetic Life Insurance

Do you know anyone who suffers from diabetes? An Uncle of mine was diabetic and it was what caused his death five years ago. Before his demise, all of his family members have had a hard time taking care of him because his diet was so tough to prepare and every now and then, the need to check his insulin and glucose was as well very hassling. But it's the diabetic life, right? I am just fortunate nobody in my very own family has ever has a history of such illness. At least not my late father, my mom, and none among my siblings. So for us, it's a matter of being careful with what we put in our body and how we take care of it. Isn't it what we ought to do?

You see, in my home country, there is no such thing as Diabetic Life Insurance. None that I know of. When I learned last night from my chat with my sister who now lives near my other Uncle's place that such Uncle now has a complicated physical condition involving diabetes, I can't help but wish that diabetics in my home country could live longer by having the quality of treatment that they need, and much more, get a diabetic life insurance. But, as I've said, the latter is still not present until this time. Too sad. Here in the United States, sick people's life insurance becomes a must. I know of a site that offers diabetic life insurance which is very accessible as you could ask a free quote from them anytime and it's at diabeticlive.com!

So if you're in the US and you or you know someone who might need this kind of insurance, check the site to know the types of policies covered and know the classifications used in providing such kind of insurance. There are also advices in there and what's more, a lot of helpful information and links on how to deal with such sickness.

wishful thinking...

Well, that's about with the snow! See, it's now the 3rd day of March [gosh, 25 more days to go and I'll be a year older! lol] and yet, it kept snowing in this part of the world still! Yesterday, it was so frustrating to see flurries all day. The sun just shone a bit but the temperature was below 10F so I never dare went out. lol I don't know what's up with me now. I seemed to have enough of the winter, really. The past years, I have always looked forward to every cold season because I used to prefer it more than the heat of the summer. Now, I always look forward to every brand new day with a bright sunshine and a temperature rising above 40F. But, I know it's just a wishful thiking still. After all, it's still early March so spring is yet to sprung in a month! Hopefully... by spring break, it will be warm enough to enjoy the outdoor!

It is still cold today but I need to go out. We have an appointment to the eye doctor so I hope the sunny atmosphere outside will keep us warm as we head on to where we're going. Have a terrific Tuesday everybody!

Custom T-shirts Giveaways

Every Christmas holiday, the hubby's family always makes it a point to give away custom t-shirts with personalized logos or printings to all of their poultry farm employee and their respective families. I reckon it is such a nice gesture, aside from the 13th month pay they usually give, isn't it? And so since the hubby and I got here, it's us who shop for those t-shirts and have them customized before they're being shipped to Philippines. Yes, it's quite a long task, but at the end of the day, it's always worth it to hear how much the people who receive it loved it! Well, so far, I know a lot of online outlets where I can order custom t-shirts and one of them is customyourshirt.com! Did you know about them?
