i'll have a blast!!!

It's Labor Day weekend friends, how are you all? I meant to ask, how are you gonna spend the holiday? Oh well, it's great to have a break from the busyness of life, right? Maybe go out shopping? Or maybe just stay in bed the whole day munching those yummy goodies with DVDs waiting to be played. A movie marathon that is. Maybe go outdoor for sports? Or go somewhere fun, fun, fun? I don't know about you but I wish you all a great and awesome holiday.

As for me...

We are off for a five-hour-drive to Lake Ozarks in Missouri. Woohooooo!!! It's going to be a fun-filled two days since we are going with the entire household- Ma and Pa, SIL Daisy and her daughter Cyndi, our dear friend Nora, with the three of us. I gotta enjoy this time while we are still all together. So wish us a safe drive then! :)

For now, I gotta sign off as things await to be prepared yet. Updates will be up as soon as I could get/have wireless. [Only if I have time though.]

Have a great holiday ladies and gentlemen!!!

"something new"

I have some things that are new and that I could say are reasons why I should be happy. First, this very blog's look is new. I am glad because finally, I have spent time tweaking a little of the template that I have here. Quite frankly, I got bored with the old blue one that I have and after carefully watching what swithart has with his website, I finally am able to sit down and spend a few good minutes for the template. I admit, I have no earth on html codes. And I am pitiful indeed. lol But with this new look, I am contented and maybe it will take another six months or maybe year to change this one more time. Second, a fresh and brand new payday for swithart! Yep, after a couple of months of not receiving his graduate assistanship, today, we just got it. Third, some brand new stuff for Triz for Fall. See, summer is almost over so we have to take advantage of the things sold at a cheaper price for now. Fourth, a new plan for the Labor Day weekend. We are thinking of going to Lake Ozarks come Sunday and spend a night in there. We'll see if we can make it. Hopefully, we could. Fifth, a new Sabbath day to rest.

Have a great weekend friends!

{haven't posted about this...}

I haven't posted this about our darling little girl. The following photos have been shot a year ago and though they're that old now, it always leaves a new prints to us seeing how extraordinary the moves that she's showing us. I am sure all of us parents are proud of our kids [thanks to my Papa and Mama for being proud of me, too! LOL] Now the significant thing about these photos is that, our daughter is a big time music lover. Maybe because I tend to sing all the time when I was pregnant with her? Or maybe because I always played nursery rhymes and country songs to her even before she came out? Or maybe still... it runs in the blood? Haha... whatever the case is, it will always be a great thing to see her achieve in the field she'll choose someday. To give you a glimpse, here she is in her Ate Cyndi's keyboard trying so hard.

They're worldless right?
With her love of any musical instruments, we figured she'll be like us, a music lover, too, in time! A year after these photos, she can now play her guitar as if she really really knows. Hmmm... I gotta show it here some time soon! :)

smokin'

It was a nice description of me yesterday! LOL See, I've written some more than 10 posts in two of my blogs yesterday and that's just until early evening. Yay! Can you believe that? I couldn't even! Haha. Really, I think I was too pressured to write because I've got opps I have reserved and I honestly don't know how I did it because it's not only blogging that I mind right here. In fact, parenting and housekeeping always come first and second. And it was just me and Triz yesterday! Was it magic? Well, I better read the entries I have posted yesterday to see if I was in the right thinking when I wrote all those. LOL. Of course, they were effortfull you know as I wouldn't dare show to the world wide web that I am writing nonsense stuff [though they are to others!]. It was just unbelievable when I realized it at the end of the day that I still am that competitive. Hehe. I know I felt tired after all those but the tiredness was also brought by the Wii Fit exercises that we did here at home. Yep, we just got our Wii Fit here [it's SIL's] and we all are loving it!

with 2 heads!

A baby born with two heads-- can you believe that?

It sure is unbelievable but it's true! Yep, it's what met me this very morning, the headline at Yahoo News and it led me to reading the whole story of it. He is a Bangladeshi boy, born August 26 and weighed 12 lbs 1 ounce. [Whew, that was two times the weigh of Triz when she was born!!!] Unfortunately, the boy only lived for two days, as the parents chose to go home for they couldn't afford for medical care for the boy. Such a sad instance, huh.. For the rest of the story, click the image above...

facebook

Does anybody among you uses Facebook? As I have said in my previous entries more than a couple of days ago, I just joined this social networking site some months ago all because a close friend of ours, our former church pianist, Arlene, who now went home to her beloved country HK after taking her masteral program here in Illinois wanted me to sign up and join so we could still keep in touch that often. I joined Facebook last May and I don't log in everyday and so my profile isn't that updated. I thought it's not a user-friendly site as it's way different to Friendster which I was and am used to. But last night, I spent an ample amount of time facebooking and honestly, I am impressed with their formatting and pattern. It seem to be catered to academic people which I have learned that the origin of Facebook is indeed for college and university students only. That if you aren't part of any college or university institution, you won't be able to join. Hmmm... it was change though and I believe starting 2003 and up to now, it became a social networking site just like Friendster for anyone who wishes to have an account. Well, I am finding it a nice one since last night and maybe if I'll have enough extra time, I'll make my Facebook profile relevant to anyone. Hehe... What about you, do you have Facebook account? Care to befriend you there? :) I won't bite, pwamis! LOL

weathering the storm

Tomorrow is going to be the city feast in my homeplace, CDO. Yay, it is so much fun in there right now I would guess! I was chatting with Ate earlier and she said they're weathering the storm, that is, the hardship economically. The rice problem continues to rise, though it rolled back earlier this month but it still is so expensive and unaffordable for most of the common people. Remembering the past, every night before the very feast day, we would always go to an amusement park to enjoy all the rides and the fun it offers. The caterpillar, ferris wheel, octupos, etc. rides, the circus, those clowns, etc. etc.-- ahhh they surely made the night! With lots of us kiddos and young at hearts, we surely had a blast with it. Now, they [my family] rarely go to such events because it's not tempting anymore considering how huge a savings they will get when they won't go. Isn't it sad?

But I have heard a lot of tourists are still flooding the city. Good for the government, eh? Tourism industry is surely in bloom and in boom in CDO. I have noticed when I was there, there have been a lot of new business establishments in the city. It stood in the last three years of my absence and they sure helped employ a lot of new graduates, especially the call center industry. I am sure the airport there these days are too busy. It usually is when special times like this takes place.
Photobucket
It is like this when we left, just three planes parked when we boarded. [It's just a regional airport anyway!] Yay the sooo gloomy sky! It was raining very hard when we left. They say it wasn't a good sign of us departing but heck, we arrived safely after all! Hehe...

NTI media maker

We are all praises for the NTI Cd-maker by NewTech Infosystems, Inc. being the music lovers that we are. Before swithart and I discovered this techie product, we were using simply the Windows Media Player and my Dell Media Direct, as well as the Roxio software that our computer has. With the numerous productions of CDs and DVDs that we do, [not commercial of course, but just our own copies], as well as saving and importing files to our iPods and MP3s and MP4s, we are indeed in need of a software that could convert almost all files to any format that we want, according to our gadget's demand, too. The NTI media maker is a blast! We are still using the old version of the software, the 6.5, but with the newest Media Maker 8 premium, swithart is dying to get one. Hah. I wish it's not that expensive but it is. It really is.

Now we are up for a watch at eBay for this product. Maybe eBay could help us get this the cheaper way. What do you think? :)

when U need 2 relax...

...and chill, and just get away from it all, may I suggest "A Day at the Beach in... China!".

[Hehe... this is an e-mail forwarded to me by SIL Daisy. As you all know, I rarely forward emails forwarded to me but once I do, it would be worth it. So this one, I am sharing with you all. I hope this makes you "oh, ah, awww, and maybe ewww? after viewing. LOL

Yey, can you bear it?
WONDER WHERE THE TOILETS ARE? Hehe...

Are They Really Safe?

For numerous times I have asked myself such question before I decided to take one of those diet pills that was so "hot" and "in" in the market. It was endorsed by one of the most well-known celebrities in the Philippine industry right now and seeing her before and after looks, as well as hearing other people's testimonials about the pill, I gave it a try. Of course, I consulted my OB-GYN about that. Yep, I was that desperate to lose weight! Hehe... BUT it never lasted that long. Just a month or so, because, I think... it didn't fit me biologically. The first reaction and effect I felt-- abdominal pain and stomach ache which I don't understand and I couldn't explain the intensity of the pain. I thought it was just the initial reaction once my body can absorb the medicine and will be gone after a couple of days as it's what the common reactions are. BUT nope, I still felt it after a week and another week. I did followed carefully all the instruction, but I still suffered from it, thus, I gave it a halt. I don't want to make a sacrifice you know so I'll just prefer my way of doing mild exercise and diet control for my losing weight thing. It's what's best for me. How about you, have you taken any diet pill? :)

When Can We Move Out?

If I were to decide, I want it badly to be... now! Why would I take it so long, right? BUT uhm..... it's going to still be a matter of time before we can because swithart's status with the university as well as his dissertation paper won't permit us yet, so moving companies that we can use in time when we could move out will be on a stand-by mode as of now. Not to worry though, because moving companies' services like what upack.com offers are available anytime we need them and so for your moving out needs, they'll guarantee their efficient service to you as well. It is during the process of transporting all your stuff and things that's the hardest, and relying on your job company for the financial obligation plus letting the moving companies help you with the transportation will make the whole thing easy and smooth. It's what I am gonna do when our turn comes. :)

i slept the whole afternoon away!!!

Yeehaa! Gosh, would you believe it? A not-so-sleepy head that I am slept the whole afternoon away?! That's from mid-2pm to 5pm man! LOL. That is so strange and rare of me. I am contented though and I am sure swithart would be the happiest! Hehe... I don't know why but for some reasons, I was feeling so tired and kinda fainting this morning. Ever since I woke up, I almost fell on the bed when I got up because I was kinda losing balance to stand up. I thought it was just a matter of getting up that quick [haven't had my me-time yet] but after having a glass of hot chocolate for my usual breakfast, I still felt dizzy and fainting. I tried my very best to be standing the normal way but I would be grabbing and holding on to something steady so I won't fall. I complained it to swithart and he said I might be having a low-blood pressure or anemia caused by my lack of sleep. He thought of going to my doctor soon but I insisted I just am needing more time to rest and have peace. Hehe... So right now, after my loooooong nap with Triz, I am feeling great! I think I need this time in my life daily as nighttime doesn't give me that much of a rest with my sleeping pattern. Hmp! I hope I won't get dizzy and fainting anytime soon. I don't like it. Nobody does anyway!

introducing: Triz's readiness for school

I did mentioned how much eagerness for school Triz has expressed and showed to us. She has observed what the dad did on the first day of school that on the second day, she tried to imitate and followed it. When swithart was all set, she then wore her Barney backpack as well and then said, "bye mom, school Triz". With all seriousness she did and said that.

Then she was kinda sad when I immediately said "no babe!". I realized her eagerness after a few seconds and then let her go outside.
See?
Off she went!

And having her stroll in the pathway just in front of our house simply made her day. When she saw the school bus on the street stopped to unload children, she knew they came from school. Huh, she is only 25 months old and yet, our baby isn't too little anymore.

i am glad it rained

I got loads of laundry to do this morning. After making breakfast, I was inclined to start with my washing as I need to do some segregation, particularly Triz's clothes. Swithart is just home since he doesn't have a class today but he's on his computer as he has a lot of school stuff to do, not to mention his need to mind his dissertation. Just when I had to enter the laundry room, Triz cried "Mom, outside! Bike!!!" And when she does, it's soooooo hard to ignore her, or to refuse what she's asking, even if it is done the nicest and most honest way. So there, I had to leave what I ought to do just for her. BUT just when I had to open the backdoor where her bikes are placed, the rain poured so hard. And so, I was glad and thankful. LOL. It sure gave Triz the reason not to go out enabling me to continue what I've started. I didn't prayed for rain but I am thankful God let it pour. It only poured hard for minutes and later on it became shower and drizzle. Now the yard is already dry and I am done with my task. Is Triz asking me once again for some time out? You bet! And I am all set. I always have the time now that it's still warm. :)

appreciating EC

Who just isn't thankful for this Entrecard thing? Me??? I am in so much appreciation.

See, my rr dropped real good three days after I've joined EC and after dropping my card to... well, not really 300 blogs outhere. That's just a lot and too much for me. LOL. I am maintaining my rr to just being one among the top 30% blogs and I am fine and content. It's great to be able to take some opps because my rr made it and I am thankful to all of you entrecarders out there who have dropped me in the past days. I will leave my EC on yours as well, as long as I have the time. My toddler is too much of a kind that she won't let me mind my lappy more than I mind her. Hehe...

Anyway, have a great Thursday friends and enjoy!

Beach Fest in Opol, MisOr '08

I am glad to have been to Opol, Misamis Oriental during our vacation in Philippines. If you have known, Opol area is where beautiful beaches are located that's closest to Cagayan de Oro City. The city itself has beaches, too, but just for fun, we decided to make Roan Beach a venue for the blessing of the cab that Yaya got for our Kuya. So off we went there and the beach during that time was just gorgeous with plenty of people there since it was Sunday. And what's more, since it was summertime, we were fortunate to have seen their lovely beach festival that's one featured activity of the province every summer. Here's a couple of shots I've got. Just for glimpse:

Imagine how much fun did we got!

so what's my niche?

I came across a blog that has the latest post of asking the readers what their niche is. I am on my first set of dropping and with that post, makes my dropping slowed a bit (though i really am slow coz I tend to skim the whole blog and the 'about me' portion). So what's my niche? What's my status now? Not the civil status of course where I just had to tell if I am married or single. Hmmm... makes me ponder on that question really. See, every morning right when I woke up is my me-me time. Used to be during shower but not anymore ever since we had Triz cause I had to do a quick 10 to 15 minutes of bathing now. And during my me-me time, that's when I have to reminisce all the things and experiences I've come across with, set my mind for the day, think of my loved ones away from me, plan my day's tasks (yeah, even if I am just home), and be grateful for every bit of possessions and blessings (material and immaterial). Yep, before I have to talk to anybody [even Triz or swithart], I've done my me-me time. But what's my niche? I think I could do a lot, depending on the given chores, organizations, people I will be with, time, and constraints. Yeah, I am that capable. And if I am not, I could have dependence to The One who could give me the strength I need. Yeah, I have such faith.

So what's my niche? Nah... I think for now, the blogosphere found me and I found blogging! Writing suits me and I am trying to fit in, and I always write to express not to impress. And these days, too, I don't know why but my reading habit just came back. I am currently in my third book already: I am on INVENTING MEMORY A Novel of Mothers and Daughters by Erica Jong. Swithart would attempt to stop me to avoid eye strain [as I am a computer addict] but I guess when it's your niche, it's your belongingness, it's your habit, it's your thing-- it will really be IT.

friendster-ing

So what is up with these so "in", so "hot", and so trendy social networking sites? I did myspace a couple of years ago but opted to forget about it as for me, it just didn't work. I would say it's all a matter of location and the type of people that's been connected to. I think myspace is but for the westerners and foreigners alike as even if I am already in the west, it still didn't worked for me. I joined friendster with my real college friends back in 2003 and since then, I would say I am loving it! Finding and reuniting [of course, via the internet only] with your former acquaintances, colleagues, and friends is awesome at friendster and I am having a blast! Making fun with the photos (hehe), critiquing the "about me" portion (just for fun), and being interested with the people's shoutout can be a lot of fun as well! And what about facebook? Well, a couple of university students and friends introduced it to me and I decided to join them for real. I am not the most active user there as I feel it has imaginable wall that separates me from the rest (haha!). I still use friendster as my main source of updates for all my friends but keep facebook for my other friends who prefer it than friendster. Recently, I've discovered a long lost friend and a former college teacher who, for years I haven't heard of. Friendster makes a way, eh?

brilliant brillante

I would say I am fortunate in so many ways to be a stay at home parent. With this blogging career that I have discovered and learned, and has became part of my daily job, I am the luckiest. The money that gets in my pocket as my earnings, though not daily, is equal to the amount of friendship I have gained as well in this blogging world. It is absolutely fantastic to know people from all over the world, exchanging thoughts through commenting and tagging and knowing the latest about their personal and business endeavors. To be given with awards and tags that are so sweet to our hearts as bloggers is thrilling and uplifting, too. And with this brilliant kind of plaque that JennyR gave, makes me feel I am at school once more.

Thanks a lot Jen for the acknowledgment! It's flattering and I truly appreciate this. I think it will be fair enough to be passing this on to all you in my linkies!

My Pinas Faces Part 1

Yes, finally, I am posting the first part of my albums during our vacation. These are simply photos that show our smiles. No escapades yet, but I am sure you'll miss some of the things that you really miss in the Philippines. Hehe... These are just few, as I won't allow this post to take your long precious time. Hope you'll have fun. We had a blast!

it's QT and EJ's B'day!!!

August 17, 1996 when my niece QT celebrated her first birthday. I was only in my first year of high school during that time and it became so unforgettable to me. See, we were in the midst of the birthday celebration when Ate Eve (the mom) went on labor for their second child. Haha. So everybody was in panic and again, it was in the middle of the huge party. Then my Ate Eve's waterbag broke and quickly they rushed to the hospital. Guess who was left to take care of the party? Me!!! You can just imagine! And the night came when the baby sister who was named EJ was welcomed by the world. Yes, they both were born the same day. Now 12 years have passed. And yeah, those little girls are now unstoppingly getting older. I am sure there's a little celebration back in their place in Davao. I could only wish I'll be sent some photos. And more than anything else, I wish for them good health and good grades in school. May they'll grow to be fine ladies and good servants of God.

I wish to share more photos of them, unfortunately, I need more time to browse my archive. :( Happy birthday Dela Pena sisters! God bless you both!

More Gigabytes, Please!!!

The first time I owned a digital camera was seven years ago. I was in my second year college when Yaya handed it to me as gift. I remember I was too in-demand during that time. LOL. Well, I only had a 1.3 MP digital camera with a 128MB memory card, but mind you, a good one hundred shots were already of quality when printed. Back then, no saving yet in hard disks or flash drives but printed it right away. But with an 8MP digital camera now, even my 2GB memory card isn't enough for my gigabytes of photos. I've started saving them in CDs so I could have copies of them when I need to take them out from my hard drive. I better have cause not all shots are printed. I brought several [four actually] xd picture cards during our vacation and boy they were all full. Now you know how many do I have to organize and upload to share it with you. No wonder I haven't even started yet. Hah.

Loving the Wii

Yes, you read my title right, we are indeed loving our Wii right here! Whoever invented this gadget, I am sure whoever owns one is grateful and amazed for such invention! It is great to just stay here at home and yet have access to sports that we love playing. Bowling at home anyone? Sure, with the Wii system. The first time I was able to get a hand of it and actually play with is was when we just got back from our vacation and SIL with Nora were too enjoyed playing. It was bowling that they so much fun with and when I tried it myself, bomb, right when I made the ball roll, STRIKE! Hmmm... SIL thought I won't do any good but she was surprised. I was too. See, it's been a couple of years since I played bowling for real. And how about golf clubs in a real golf course? Nah... not for now. This Wii will do for me for now. :)

back to the usual

We have had an awesome Sabbath yesterday! We were back to the usual church routine, though unfortunately, we weren't able to attend the Vacation Bible School [VBS] that the church held for the week. Yeah, we missed it badly and it was because of Triz's sleeping schedule still. We had a wonderful time at church, Ma and Pa's first time to be back and they were met with the warmest welcome, like we had last Saturday. Last night, back to our usual regular chatting time as well, and is continued right now. I was only able to talk to my Ate Eve in HK and have texted to Ati in CDO. Now it's swithart's and in-laws' schedule of chatting with the family back in CDO. I could hear their laughters and ahh they sure are having fun. Yeah, everybody misses everybody and I am one of those.

Target: A 13.3" Dell Inspiron

Checking my inboxes is one of the things I first have to do in the morning, right after having fixed myself from bed (or sometimes, still in bed actually). This morning, I was greeted by advertisements in my mails, two of which are all about laptop computers. So there, it got my weakness at that early: window shopping. Actually, I love browsing technology sites as I am always amazed with the latest gadgets out there. Before I left Philippines, I was just ignoring my young and intelligent niece's request of buying her a laptop because I felt she is still too young to own one making it impractical and unwise but thinking about it more realistically, I realized a laptop can be of use to her and her sister's studies. With the advertisements this morning, I've made a new target: a Dell 13.3" Inspiron 1318 Pacific Blue Laptop with Intel Pentium Dual Core T2390. Mine is only two years old but when I get to buy this new one I have targeted, I am thinking of sending this old one to Jewell, my niece and I'll have the new one (Hehe.. how'd you call that?)

Well, the item description says the highlights of this model include a 13.3" WXGA TrueLife Wide Display, 2GB Dual Channel DDR2, a 160GB Hard Drive and a 2.0MP Webcam. That makes it all the more important to me and not to my nieces who are still in their elementary grades. There's so much to say and discuss about this product, but meantime, I gotta save over five hundred bucks for it! LOL

Transworld Futures

My Japanese brother-in-law has resigned from his driving job since his entire family (just his wife and their daughter) moved to Japan for good. He said he's now gonna work somewhere away from his own family, instead, they're going to put up a business venture as they're main source of income. A Japanese that he is, he 's so interested and fascinated with financial thing. Right now, they're on an initial plan and all I have understand is that they're putting up a sort of realty combined commodity trading firm. Some kind of a futures trading that transworldfutures.com has. I may as well refer this site to them. With facts like trading platforms and foreign exchange, I figured this will be of relevance.

Beautifeel Shoes

I love shoes! No, not in the sense that I buy everything I see even if I won't wear it. Don't get me wrong, I am aware that there are people who are like that, women at that. I grew up unwealthy materially that I only have a pair of shoes every year for school. If it still works the following year and still fits my weary feet, I don't get a new pair. But in my final year in college, when I started to earn my salary thru my OJT, I had the chance to buy several pair that entire year. Again and again, not because of luxury but because of the need. See, I was already on duty and I needed to be on casual attire, thus, I have to look presentable. Now I have several pairs, enough to match my lots of casual dresses, too for church. They are perfectly chosen by me and swithart and they are beautiful. But do you know about Beautifeel shoes? Ahh... you should check out the site!

oh... friendship!

I am back to doing tags, so you taggers out there, hit me once again! LoL.

And here's the first among the many that I missed doing. It's the perfect blend of friendship that Emz gave me. Thanks a lot Emz for remembering me upon my return. The picture below (courtesy of Emz) is me and Emz with Triz's eyes (haha) when we met at SM Davao last March when we both went home. Emz is the first online blogger friend I've met in person and I am glad I did as I had the chance to talk about those daily things that matter. Time was inadequate for us to get going and our acquaintance lasted only some minutes. But I am hoping we'll be friends for keep as well as see each other again.

Now here's the thing she gave me as her way of welcoming me back from my long vacation:

Isn't that nice? A perfect blend of friendship, yes has trust, kindness, honesty, and caring as the basic ingredients. And I'll add one thing more: respect for other's beliefs and opinions, and humor. That's what I am finding in my friendship with In-in and Ritchelle. I am keeping them for real! (Sweet ahh.)

b4 i 4get...

I am gonna acknowledge and thank somebodies. Upon our arrival here last week, it was so fascinating to see how much changes did SIL and Nora made to the looks here at home. Well, they did rearranged the furnitures and replaced the old appliances giving us a fresh welcome. Thanks to them, too for waiting for us patiently at the airport to fetch us as we were some 30 minutes late courtesy of the late arrival of the AA that we were gonna be boarding for the fourth (thankfully, for the last time!). And when we reached home, it was so great to have met and welcomed with this basket of fresh harvest:

Swithart and I knew that it came from the bottom of The Malak's heart as they all have been anticipating for our return and that was very sweet and thoughtful of them. Thanks a lot Jerry for all your effort, help, and all the blessings you've shared unto us. You are the most thoughtful and we are in so much gratitude for having known you... (Na-libre akong pila ka lutuan. Hehe...)

untimingly adjusting still

I woke from from my slumber at a very early time: 2:15 am. I have had a good six hours of sleep. To some, it isn't enough but to me, it's basically bearable. Even a good 3 or 4 hours is so great! Opening my YM, I missed a lot of people who went online last night. People from back home I meant. I find it too bad, cause I badly wanted to talk to Ate for some important things. I blame my sleepyhead last night! I was watching the Olympics' Somersault last night via NBC which I find to be very nice while folding the laundry that I've dried outside (thanks to the 75F temperature!) and yet, my eyes seemed to have caught on me. See, I haven't taken a nap the whole day and the other night, I slept at 2:30am and was up at 4am. All these because of Triz's sleeping pattern which is still untiming. Argh.. I hope this will change soon. Next wee will be the start of the class and swithart will be up for a teaching assignment. I will be left home, again, along with Triz. My role apparently.

was surprised

Triz's late appointment for her 2-year-old well check up with her pediatrician yesterday went well. I was anxiously waiting for such time because I have so much to tell Dr. Boe about our stay in Philippines, including Triz's health update when we were there. First, the physical measurements; i.e., her weight and height. The latter was just fine but the first was incredibly unbelievable on Dr. Boe's part. Oh how much weight did Triz lost in the last five months. I certainly blame it on the place, the food, and dadi's absence in the first three months of our vacation. Now we have a lot of efforts to do in order for Triz's physique to get back to normal. Her eating habits this time is doing good and she's getting so much easier to feed. She absolutely knows what she wants and needs and she could tell them all without inhibitions. All other things that were checked were excellent, especially her vocabulary. I thought she won't say a word when it's her doctor who's gonna ask her but to our surprise, she did tell a lot of things. Overall, we had a great time at the clinic and I am glad she seem to be welcoming strangers easier than before. I could tell our time back in Philippines where she was able to associate and socialize to a lot of kids and older folks helped.

kip goin'

In my absence in this blogging career for several months, I realized I do missed a lot, especially the new trends in hopping and in blog hopping itself to read your latest entries. And oh.. Ritchelle's Arnel Pineda, too! Haha. But I am not sorry though cause my time spent back home was way beyond compare. Yes, problems were there as they're unavoidable and certainly part of life but I consider the time I spent in there as very great. I thank Redlan for the photo album that he himself made which he sent as his birthday gift to Triz and it was real nice. I still have to find the shot (in my archive) I've taken so I could share it here. Jon and I find it so pretty. I thank In-in and Ritchelle as well for their birthday gift to Triz thru paypal. You guys are so thoughtful and we three are truly thankful. Triz successfully turned two and that's all that matters. Now we are back to keep going. That's in life, including my blogging career. Hehe...

yay, monday!!!

It's Monday now and it's almost been a week since we got back. But the big BUT: we aren't back to our normal routine, especially the sleeping pattern yet. It's just a good thing that the class is not starting yet, or else, swithart will be screwed up from his schedule. LoL. It's getting chilly in here and I am liking it. After spending some good five months in super hot Philippines, I sure missed this chilliness I am feeling. Hehe. Today is Triz's late 2-year-old well check-up with her pediatrician and I couldn't wait to go and see what's new. I mean, I do know what's going on with her but I am much interested with the exact measurements that will be done later. I wonder too is she's gonna cry for the check ups. She's been talking a lot already but mostly, it's Visayan dialect so it will be interesting. She still sleeps 8 to 9 hours during the day and 3 to 4 hours at night making me unable to overcome this jet lag I am having as well. It's a good start of the week today. I hope we all have a good one!

CozyDays' Furnitures

My sister needs an interior designer! For me, she could be the one to do the interior decorating of her own house as I believe in her skill and capability as an artist but for expertise's sake, she said she's gonna entrust such thing to a more expert in such field; thus, soon when her house will be finished, somebody who can do the decorating including the choosing of the right furnishings will be hired. I would then insist on using CozyDay' outdoor furniture display especially their outdoor furniture covers. This is just perfect because my sister and her family love the outdoor, like staying in the patio or having picnic just outside the house. Doesn't this furniture in the picture looks awesome? It does! Simple, elegant, and neat. That's courtesy of cozydays.com.

Shopping Time Again!

I sure missed shopping online! Yes, I do! We were watching the opening night of the Beijing Olympics last Friday and all six of us were in the living room with eyes focused on the 29-inches television. For me, it's already a big and wide screen TV but for my father-in-law, it would be better to have watched the great and anticipated event in a wider and flat-screened monitor. SIL said it's time to buy a new DLP tv and I readily recommended buy.com's back-to-school clearance prices. Well, as I have said, I have missed shopping online and having returned from our long vacation with a cellphone that needs to be activated again, my thing in the previous days that have past was shopping and shopping online for such stuff and you wouldn't believe it: until now, I still have not decided on which phone to get, one with the old-model or the new blackberry type. Hehe. As usual, swithart suggested to stick to the cheapest. LoL.
